Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-17T00:00:00Z

This Cookie Policy explains how SkillRush (), operator of SkillRush at skillrush.placeholder, uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our Platform. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device, remember your preferences, and deliver a functional and secure experience. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and SDKs — this policy covers all of them collectively as "cookies".

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary

These cookies are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off. They enable core features such as signing in, security, session integrity, load balancing, and remembering your consent choices. Without them, services you have requested cannot be provided.

Examples: authentication session, CSRF protection, cookie consent state.

2.2 Functional

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your language, preferred theme, or last-visited game lobby. They are set only with your consent (or where strictly necessary to deliver a feature you actively requested).

2.3 Analytics

Where enabled, analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform (pages viewed, navigation paths, aggregate performance). They are set only after you provide consent through our cookie banner. Data is used in aggregate to improve the Platform and is not used to identify individual users.

2.4 Third-Party Cookies

Certain features rely on trusted third-party services (for example, payment processing, identity verification, fraud prevention). These providers may set their own cookies subject to their privacy and cookie policies. We do not control third-party cookies and encourage you to review each provider's policy.

3. Consent Mechanism

When you first visit SkillRush, you will see a cookie banner offering the following choices:

  • **Accept all** — enables all cookie categories described above.
  • **Reject non-essential** — only strictly necessary cookies are set.
  • **Manage preferences** — choose categories individually.

Your choice is stored so we do not ask again on every visit. Strictly necessary cookies are always set because the Platform cannot function without them.

4. Managing and Withdrawing Consent

4.1 You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the Platform footer.

4.2 You can also control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers allow you to view, delete, or block cookies. Instructions are available at:

  • Chrome: chrome://settings/cookies
  • Firefox: about:preferences#privacy
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy
  • Edge: edge://settings/content/cookies

4.3 Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the Platform from working correctly (for example, you will not be able to stay signed in).

5. Retention

Cookies have different lifespans. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period (typically up to 12 months) or until you delete them. Consent choices are stored for up to 12 months, after which we will ask again.

6. International Users and GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive:

  • **Strictly necessary cookies**: our legitimate interest in operating a secure Platform and, where applicable, our obligation to provide the service you requested.
  • **Functional, analytics, and third-party cookies**: your explicit consent, freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous — which you may withdraw at any time.

You have the right to access, rectify, delete, or object to the processing of personal data collected via cookies. Contact us at support@skillrush.online to exercise these rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no accepted industry standard for interpreting DNT, and the Platform does not currently respond to DNT signals. You can still control cookies via our banner and your browser settings as described above.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use or to applicable law. Material changes will be notified via the Platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was most recently revised.
